Privacy Policy

Effective date: June 13, 2026  ·  Last updated: June 13, 2026

Random Travel ("we," "us," or "the Service") is an AI-powered travel suggestion service available at https://random-travel-two.vercel.app. The Service is operated by an individual developer based in Japan (credited on the site as H.Tetsuya).

This policy explains what data we handle, why, and what your rights are. We have tried to keep it short and honest. The most important thing to know: we do not store your personal data on our servers, and we never sell your data.

If you have any questions or requests about your data, contact us at:
t.hinata@washobi.net

1. What data we handle

a. Information you enter into the Service

When you request a travel suggestion, you enter:

This information is sent to our server and forwarded to Anthropic's Claude API to generate your travel suggestion. We do not save this information on our servers. It is processed only for the duration of your request.

b. Analytics data (Google Analytics 4)

With your consent (see Section 3, Cookies), we use Google Analytics 4 ("GA4") to understand how the Service is used. GA4 collects:

GA4 data is pseudonymous — it identifies a browser, not you by name. We never combine it with any information that could identify you personally. If you write a comment in the feedback box, please do not include personal information in it.

c. Data stored in your browser (localStorage)

The Service stores a small amount of data in your own browser only, never on our servers:

You can delete this at any time by clearing your browser's site data for random-travel-two.vercel.app.

d. Data we do NOT collect

We do not ask for, and do not collect: your name, email address, account credentials, payment information, precise location, or any government identifiers. The Service has no user accounts.

2. Third parties that receive data

To provide the Service, limited data is shared with the following processors:

Recipient What is sent Why
Anthropic, PBC (USA) — Claude API Your departure city, trip duration, and travel style To generate your AI travel suggestion
Google LLC (USA) — Google Analytics 4 Pseudonymous usage and analytics data (only after you consent to cookies) To understand how the Service is used and improve it
Unsplash, Inc. (Canada) The name of the suggested destination To fetch a representative photo of the destination
Vercel, Inc. (USA) Standard technical data inherent to web hosting (e.g., IP address in server logs) Hosting and delivery of the website

We do not sell or rent any data to anyone, and we do not share data with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

International transfers

We are based in Japan. The providers above process data in the United States and other countries. Where data of users in the EU/EEA or the UK is transferred, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework (for certified US providers) and/or standard contractual clauses offered by those providers. Japan itself holds an adequacy decision from the European Commission.

3. Cookies and consent

We use cookies only for Google Analytics 4, and only if you consent.

When you first visit the Service, you will see a cookie banner. GA4 is not loaded, and no analytics cookies are set, until you click "Accept." If you decline, the Service works exactly the same — we simply won't see your usage in our analytics.

You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your browser's site data for random-travel-two.vercel.app (cookies and local storage); the banner will then appear again on your next visit.

Affiliate links: The Service may display links to third-party booking sites (such as Rakuten Travel, Agoda, Booking.com, Klook, KKday, and Viator). If you click these links, the destination site and its affiliate network may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. We may earn a commission on bookings made through these links; this does not affect the price you pay.

4. Legal bases (for users in the EU/EEA and UK)

If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, the GDPR / UK GDPR applies, and our legal bases are:

5. Your rights

Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and Japan's Act on the Protection of Personal Information), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent.

In practice, because we do not store your personal data on our servers, there is usually nothing for us to retrieve or delete — your search inputs are not retained, and analytics data is pseudonymous. But if you have any concern or request, email us at t.hinata@washobi.net and we will respond as promptly as we can. EU/EEA users also have the right to lodge a complaint with their local data protection authority.

6. Data retention

7. Children

The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Security

The Service is served over HTTPS. We minimize risk primarily by not collecting or storing personal data in the first place.

9. Important note about AI-generated content

Travel suggestions are generated by an AI model. They are provided for inspiration and informational purposes and may contain errors or outdated information. Please verify schedules, opening hours, transport, and prices before traveling. (See our Terms of Service for details.)

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will always reflect the current version. Material changes will be noted on the Service.
