Terms of Service

Effective date: June 13, 2026  ·  Last updated: June 13, 2026

Welcome to Random Travel ("the Service"), available at https://random-travel-two.vercel.app. The Service is operated by an individual developer based in Japan (credited on the site as H.Tetsuya) ("we," "us").

By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. We have kept these Terms short and in plain language on purpose — please actually read them, especially Sections 2 and 3.

1. What the Service is

Random Travel suggests surprise travel destinations within Japan. You enter a departure city and trip duration, and an AI generates a suggested destination with a sample itinerary, seasonal information, accommodation ideas, and transport guidance.

The Service is an information and inspiration tool only. We do not:

Any booking you make happens entirely on third-party websites, under their own terms and policies.

2. AI-generated content — please verify before you travel

All travel suggestions are generated by an artificial intelligence model. AI can and does make mistakes. Suggestions may contain information that is inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date, including (but not limited to) opening hours, transport routes, travel times, seasonal events, prices, and availability.

You must independently verify all important details — especially transport schedules, opening hours, and prices — with official sources before making any travel plans or purchases.

Suggestions are not professional travel advice, and we make no guarantee that any suggested destination, itinerary, or activity is suitable, safe, available, or appropriate for you.

3. Affiliate links

The Service may display links to third-party booking and activity sites, including Rakuten Travel, Agoda, Booking.com, Klook, KKday, and Viator. These are affiliate links: if you make a booking or purchase through them, we may earn a commission. This does not affect the price you pay.

We do not own, operate, or control these third-party sites and are not responsible for their content, accuracy, pricing, availability, or your transactions with them. Your use of those sites is governed by their own terms and privacy policies.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

We may suspend or block access to the Service for violations of these Terms.

5. Intellectual property

The Service — including its name, design, and software — belongs to us or our licensors. You may use the travel suggestions generated for you for your own personal, non-commercial purposes (for example, planning your own trip or sharing it with travel companions). You may not republish or commercially exploit the Service's content without our permission.

Photos displayed in suggestions are sourced via Unsplash and remain subject to their respective licenses and attribution.

6. The Service is provided "as is"

The Service is provided free of charge, on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, reliability, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (in whole or in part) at any time without notice.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law, including liability for damage caused by our willful misconduct or gross negligence, or your statutory rights as a consumer under mandatory law in your country of residence.

8. Privacy

Our handling of data is described in our Privacy Policy. In short: we do not store your personal data on our servers, and analytics cookies are used only with your consent.

9. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date above will reflect the current version, and material changes will be noted on the Service. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

10. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of Japan, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the Tokyo District Court as the court of first instance, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence provides otherwise.

11. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full effect.
